Pocahontas was the daughter of Chief Powhatan, born around 1596 in early 17th-century Virginia. She was still very young—only about eleven years old—when she first met the English settlers in Jamestown. During a difficult time, she helped them survive by bringing food and offering guidance, choosing peace and understanding over conflict.

Despite the tension between her people and the settlers, Pocahontas became a symbol of courage, kindness, and connection between two different worlds. Her life later took a tragic turn, as she was captured, taken to England, converted, and married. She passed away at the young age of twenty-one, but her story remains powerful and inspiring.

The soft, earthy beige fabric reflects her connection to nature, while the flowing tassels resemble movement, freedom, and river reeds. Details like the feathered belt and beaded elements echo tribal traditions and strength.
